The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Have Fun, Be Hopeful, Be Joyful, Be all God meant you to be.

Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess. Everyone knew she was a princess because she was born with a black onyx ring on her toe.

One day she would be queen.

She had a brother, Prince Joshua but he would never be king because he liked to scooch too much.

Each morning his best friend Sir Caleb would come to the castle for their workout.

They would wrestle... race.... and have a sword fight.Then they would bathe, eat their breakfast and take a nap.

Princess Ariel preferred more delicate fitness exercises centered around two pro-active routines which she called "Mittens" and "Feathers"..."Mittens" helped her maintain lightening paw movements. "Feathers" honed her natural ability to protect and defend the subjects of her cat kingdom.

Like all royal kittens, Princess Ariel and Prince Joshua had a nanny. Lady Jeremiah whom they called Nanny, tenderly cuddled and groomed the little ones.

She carefully monitored their table manners and on special occasions would play games with them. Once she even played "dress up" which made them purr with delight. Nanny Jeremiah came to love the Royal Kittens dearly. She even saved every whisker they lost and put them in her very own Royal Whisker Album.

Each weekday morning their headmistress, Lady Tavi, waited in Castle CornerStone's schoolroom for her gifted students' arrival. {Royal Kittens are always home schooled.} Knowing they would be expected to excel, she taught them with love and firmness. For example, she would enunciate their spelling words clearly.

M~~~~~i~~~~l~~~~k was their favorite word. Whenever Prince Joshua heard Lady Tavi enunciate this word, he would run to the kitchen and sit near the refrigerator until one of the servants poured him a little bowl of milk.

Princess Ariel gathered a pride of exceptional advisors to help serve her subjects. Her Lady-in-Waiting. Mrs. Miniver, oversaw the treasury. Mrs. Miniver had become a gifted mathematician because she was born with extra toes on her paws. All her computations were done without a calculator or paper and pencil. In the fall she would sit for hours by the window nearest her favorite tree and count the leaves as they floated to the ground. Mrs. Miniver also made certain that the staff never overslept. She would gently tap anyone who did not awake at the first call.

Lady Beldon was Mrs. Miniver's assistant. Her fitness routine was based on isometrics. From her post she oversaw the cats who lived outside Castle CornerStone's walls.

She knew each one by name and made sure they all received proper medical attention, plenty of food, clean water and lovely housing. Lady Beldon always sounded an alarm whenever Max, the mongrel dog broke loose.

One day he made the mistake of sticking his head in the front door of the cottage and three cats went after his nose! He didn't try that again for a long, long time.

When this act of terrorism was reported to Princess Ariel, she thanked her Creator that all her subjects were safe. In her prayers she joined with the rest of creation and asked Him to please come back soon. She had studied the writings of the prophet Isaiah and knew that one day the Lord of all nature would come, the "lion would lie down with the Ox..." and Max would be a friend to her subjects....

The Family of God

There are some people born... whom God has chosen...placed into families... yet set apart. Even from a young age if they think back and remember moments that stand out where they never quite fit in... deep down they could sense the rejection or hostility from those around them. Some are born of the flesh yet... God has placed His Spirit within them and they feel they don’t belong... there is a deep longing for something else... What they are sensing is God seeking them out as one of His own.

We are eternal beings...there is the one self interacting within their life’s circumstances and there is another self within...God calls to this inner self and “engineers” our circumstances to activate this spiritual self within.

Each choice we make in response to God’s prodding determines which self lives... every time we respond in obedience to His call...we become more free...transient...spiritual...

If we choose to avoid His prodding to rise higher we become dense...more solid...our feet become clay...sunk in to this life... and we become immovable... immobile... to the spirit.

We can cause that very Spirit that first beckoned us to freedom to be grieved...and we become impenetrable to His Spirit... dead while we live... It’s a choice that we make in each circumstance that determines if we are of this world or the next.

Think of it this way. You were born to a set of parents from this great metropolitan place...and through circumstance you have ended up in the jungle. You know deep within you don’t fit in...somehow you have been separated and from deep within you feel that inner call home.

Too many who are lost in the jungle adapt to the native ways and rather than reach higher we become just like the natives until there is no trace within that makes us any different.

God expected us to make a difference to those around us to call others to see that difference within yet we make choices to keep ourselves comfortable in the jungle. We have forgotten the land from which we had come...

We lost the light like Adam in the garden when God calls we don’t respond. We solidify ourselves in this land by our avoidance of truth. We have become comfortable in the jungle.

Story Time

Why God?

A legend says that Moses once sat near a well in meditation. A wayfarer stopped to drink from the well and when he did so his purse fell from his girdle into the sand. The man departed. Shortly afterwards another man passed near the well, saw the purse and picked it up. Later a third man stopped to assuage his thirst and went to sleep in the shadow of the well. Meanwhile, the first man had discovered that his purse was missing and assuming that he must have lost it at the well, returned, awoke the sleeper (who of course knew nothing) and demanded his money back. An argument followed, and irate, the first man slayed the latter. Whereupon Moses said to God, "You see, therefore men do not believe in you. There is too much evil and injustice in the world. Why should the first man have lost his purse and then become a murderer? Why should the second have gotten a purse full of gold without having worked for it? The third was completely innocent. Why was he slain?"

God answered. "For once and only once, I will give you an explanation. I cannot do it at every step. The first man was a thief's son. The purse contained money stolen by his father from the father of the second, who, finding the purse, only found what was due him. The third was a murderer whose crime had never been revealed and who received from the first the punishment he deserved. In the future believe that there is sense and righteousness in what transpires even when you do not understand."

Faith in God is the sole answer to the mystery of evil.

Time

"Sinners in the Hand of an Angry God"

wasn't the only sermon of lasting value delivered by Jonathan Edwards.

He also addressed

"The Preciousness of Time and the Importance of Redeeming It"

for "when it is gone, it cannot be purchased for money and cannot be redeemed

by silver or gold."

According to the Scriptures a man is allotted seventy years.

This converts to 25,550 days. Multiply 365 days by your age

to find the number of days you have lived.

Now,

subtract the number of your days from the 25,550

allotted days to get an idea of how many days you may have left.

Edwards said, "If one were as foolish with his money as with

his time, throwing it away like he throws away time,

we would think him insane and not in his right mind."

The devil tells youth that there is plenty of time left to

consider the things of God. "When their youth is passed, he

tells them that they have lost so much - the best of their time - it

is not worthwhile to attempt doing anything."

This clear, precise presentation of Mr. Edward's sermon,

delivered in December 1734, is refreshing and easy to read.

Those who feel a sense of urgency will find the last section,

"How to Make the Best Use of Time," to be extremely helpful.

Time does NOT heal all things, God does and the Scriptures are

concise in their counsel concerning time.

This page is for the thoughts of readers of good and bad books, books that have changed your mind and focus. The beauty of reading is the personal travel that takes place without limits and without danger and yet has all the adventure of a Safari in Africa. Movies tend to clutter your mind with sight and sound that is not of your own mind. I have found that the adventure into the inner castles of the mind are without parallel in all of the techology of this age. I recall the movie "84 Charing Crossing" an Ann Bancroft oldie, which intrigued me but the reason escaped me 'till I grew up to own a bookstore then I instantly knew the reason for the intrigue. I will bring you on this adventure through books on my website, some you have read some you need to read. www.cornerstone-unlimited.com Now before I share my book of the month I want to impress upon you that The Bible is the Best collection of books ever written; much maligned, much degraded and most intriguing. It is the only book that will protect your mind in this mind controlling world. Read Ephesians 6 ... about the whole armour of God. Just read The Bible daily - never mind if you understand this passage or that passage... just read it. The Word will be a Lamp unto your feet as It promises. Try to remember, The Word is an answer book. If you don't have a question the answer will be meaningless. It is like one of those quiz books that has the answers in the back. If you just read the answer to Question # 2 you would scratch your head and say that makes no sense. Just wait, the day will come when the unspoken question is answered in Luke 18 or Galatians 3, etc. The "WOW" will be heard in the corridors of heaven and the angelic host will say, "She/He got it!"

Book: "The GREATEST THING in the WORLD" by Henry Drummond.

This Classic has been reprinted with a wonderful mini-biography of Henry Drummond. You will learn a bit about this unusual man who was a scientist, a minister, a complicatedly simple, forthright man with the strength of his convictions somewhat like the apostle Paul who wrote the 13th chapter of Corinthians, that famous "Love" chapter quoted so often and yet he is perceived to be the tough old unloving man of faith. This is considered the oldest sermon on that chapter and I consider it the best, then the book gives you the sermon and 12 translations of 1 Corinthians 13 and as you will see Love in any language is the same. Lastly, the book includes other writings that have not been easy to find (at least not to my knowlege) which are stirring and comforting and most of all beneficial to the growth of your/my spirit. Thats it! I do hope this, our little journey, was not a waste of your time. I hope to see you back again, for another journey of the Mind through the Words. In "The Abuse of the Adjective," Drummond warned that the English language was losing its grandeur and becoming flippant due to the "piling on" of adjectives. I pray I have not dimmed the grandeur. Since our life's question, for it is in short supply, is to find the answers as to why? we must not seek below what is only found on high.

What is a sign, but an indication that we need direction.

Why do we read a sign? Is it because we are lost?

Is it because we are curious? Either answer is correct.

Direction because we question.

Builders?

I watched them tearing a building down a gang of men in a busy town.

With a ho-heave-ho and a lusty yell they swung a beam and the

sidewalk fell I asked the foreman,

" are these men skilled and the men you'd hire if you had to build?"

He gave a laugh, and said, "No indeed! Just common labor is all I need.

I can easily wreck in a day or two what builders have taken a year to do!

And I thought to myself, as I went my way, which of these roles have I tried to play?

Am I a builder who works with care Measuring by the rule and square?

Am I shaping my deeds to a well-made plan? Patiently doing the best I can?

Or am I a wrecker, who walks the town, content with the labor of tearing down?

The Gift of Salt:

Once upon a time there was a king with two sons.

He asked them, "How much do you love me"?

The first son said, "I love you more than all the king's treasures."

The second son said, "I love you more than salt."

The first son pleased the father but the father banished the second...

As the second son left the castle he instructed the cook to prepare his

father's meals without salt.

After some time the king began to lose his appetite and asked the doctors why?

The doctors had no explanation.

Then the cook simply said, "I have removed the salt, that is all...."

With this, the king came to realize the importance of salt and the importance of his son's wisdom and love.
